We celebrated the 50th anniversary of our Christian Education building on Kick-off Sunday, Sept 9.  Joining us for the celebration was our Presbytery's General Presbyter, Jim DiEgidio; former pastor, David Redding (1956-1963); and Glendale Mayor, Joe Hubbard; along with former members who returned for the special occasion.  The celebration took place in the courtyard between the sanctuary, church house, and CE Building.   The celebration continued in worship and concluded with a reception in the Church House.

Redding was pastor here when ground was broken for the new education facility and the building was dedicated.   The T. Ashley Walker Christian Education Building is named for previous pastor, Thomas Ashley Walker (1946-1955), who invited many interesting and notable preachers and speakers to deliver Sunday sermons from the Glendale pulpit.  Among them are well-known theologian, Reinhold Neibuhr, and Union Seminary (NY) president, William Sloan Coffin, to preach in the Glendale pulpit.
